"Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, 'I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.'" - John 8:12
"You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.  Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven." - Matthew 5:14-16
"...because of the tender mercy of our God, whereby the sunrise shall visit us from on high to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace." - Luke 1:78-79
"In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it." - John 1:4-5
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations." - Jeremiah 1:5
"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly." - John 10:10
"For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth." - Psalm 139:13-15
"Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his." - Romans 6:3-5
"For you, O Lord, are my hope, my trust, O Lord, from my youth. Upon you I have leaned from before my birth; you are he who took me from my mother's womb. My praise is continually of you." - Psalm 71:5-6
"And Peter said to them, 'Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.'" - Acts 2:38-39
"Jesus answered, 'Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.'" - John 3:5

Through the Word, the Holy Spirit creates faith in Through the Word, the Holy Spirit creates faith in us. This faith is a free gift which opens our hands to receive the bountiful gifts of God. The Spirit also enables us to uphold the lives of others by sharing the Word with them.

God has created every human being to be equal in v God has created every human being to be equal in value, no matter one’s race, gender, age, or ability. The evil theory of eugenics suggests that some races, ages, and abilities are superior to others. This idea is a product of our sinful world which seeks to divide us and destroy human life. But Jesus Christ not only upholds all life equally when He died on the cross to redeem every human being, but He also restores division on earth. As Lord of all nations, Christ unites every race, gender, age, and ability into His holy family. In Galatians 3:28 Paul tells us that, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise.” Every human being has equal value because Christ has redeemed us all with His precious blood. As members of His body we are no longer divided by earthly or biological standards, but rather united under our loving Head, Jesus Christ.

Pregnancy causes a lot of change to a woman’s body Pregnancy causes a lot of change to a woman’s body. She may experience changes in weight, mood swings, swelling, nausea, and fatigue. But the woman also receives long-lasting benefits to her health by being pregnant. The baby automatically sends stem cells into the mother’s blood stream. These cells have amazing restorative properties that have been linked with tissue repair, cancer prevention, and immune system support. These benefits do not just last during pregnancy, they are present long after the baby has been born. The loving relationship between baby and mother reflects the relationship God desires us to have with our neighbors. Relationships are about loving sacrifice for the sake of one’s neighbor. This loving sacrifice reflects Christ’s perfect love for us, as He emptied Himself to save our bodies and souls. Pregnancy can be a very difficult nine months followed by a painful delivery, but God has filled it with blessings and sacrificial love.

Though the cross brought sadness at Christ’s death Though the cross brought sadness at Christ’s death, those who are in Christ know that the cross was not the end. Through His death and resurrection He conquered sin, death, and the devil. Our Easter joy is that Christ has risen and given life to all!

Babies in the womb spend a lot of time exploring a Babies in the womb spend a lot of time exploring as their new bodies develop. One of the things they get to explore is the gift of hearing. God created babies with the ability to hear their parents' voices before they are even out of the womb. This allows the baby to bond with his/her parents, especially dad. In fact, babies can actually hear low pitch sounds better than high pitch sounds. This means the baby gets a special opportunity to learn dad’s voice. God also gives the gift of hearing so we may hear His Word. Faith comes from hearing His Word, so babies who hear His Word through Church, family devotions, mealtime prayers, and more receive the Holy Spirit. We thank and praise God for giving us the gift of sound!
