"Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, 'I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.'" - John 8:12
"You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.  Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven." - Matthew 5:14-16
"...because of the tender mercy of our God, whereby the sunrise shall visit us from on high to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace." - Luke 1:78-79
"In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it." - John 1:4-5
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations." - Jeremiah 1:5
"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly." - John 10:10
"For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth." - Psalm 139:13-15
"Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his." - Romans 6:3-5
"For you, O Lord, are my hope, my trust, O Lord, from my youth. Upon you I have leaned from before my birth; you are he who took me from my mother's womb. My praise is continually of you." - Psalm 71:5-6
"And Peter said to them, 'Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.'" - Acts 2:38-39
"Jesus answered, 'Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.'" - John 3:5

We are always in the valley of the shadow of death We are always in the valley of the shadow of death in our sin-sick world. But God walks with us through this valley, upholds our lives, and carries the burden of our sin for us. Our God of life has overcome this dying world of sin so that we might live with Him forever.

Current gender norms have falsely redefined what i Current gender norms have falsely redefined what it means to be masculine and feminine. As a result, many young people feel pressure to either conform to the stereotypes of their gender or identify with a different gender altogether. But God did not create gender to be a moving target. In fact, God gave Adam and Eve the gift of gender in the Garden. Through sex and gender and the different organs associated with male and female bodies, God creates and sustains human life. He gives women the ability to carry and nurse babies and men the desire to protect life. God also upholds life by grounding our identity in Christ through Baptism. Christ redeems men and women alike through His death and resurrection, bringing them into His body and filling them with His Spirit. He then uses the unique gifts of men and women to sustain life, making gender more than a personal marker, but a gift for the service of others.

Our culture changes daily. Different clothes are i Our culture changes daily. Different clothes are in style, new music is popular, and values shift, slowly degrading God’s gift of life. But God has not and never will change. Before the world was created, He loved our lives. He loved our lives so much that He sent His Son to redeem us, giving us a way to eternal life.

Generation Z is the most non-religious generation Generation Z is the most non-religious generation in American History. This means that many young people do not find their identity in the unchangeable God; rather, they find identity in fleeting identifications. But God made us for a relationship with Him so that He can comfort us in our sin-sick world. In Galatians 2:20 the Apostle Paul writes, “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” This means that through Baptism God washes us with the blood of Christ, freeing us from the guilt of our sin and giving us eternal life. In a world full of change and decay, God is constantly there to feed us with His Word and Sacrament and to heal our infirmities.

The relationship between parent and child is one o The relationship between parent and child is one of the most impactful relationships a person has. Parents are our very first neighbors, and from them we learn both our values and identity. Parents are also our first tangible source of love and affection. When this relationship is lacking in love and affection, children face the consequences for the rest of their lives. God did not create the parent-child relationship to be broken; instead, He blessed it. In the Fourth Commandment God tells children to honor their parents, and He tells parents to love and nurture their children. Even though these relationships are marred by sin, God still works through parents to care for children in body and soul. From the love of a parent, children learn how their heavenly Father loves and cares for them. Even if earthly parental relationships are broken, God’s love for us is endless and sacrificial.
